Computer Education
Computer Education initiates our young students into the captivating world of computing, and introduces them to its wide and ever increasing range of applications.
We commence computer education from lower classes itself. We make sure that high end machines are available for each child. The computers in our lab are connected through local intranet; one system is provided with internet access for the staff.
Science and Math Labs
Our Amrita Vidyalayam has well equipped science labs, and we focus mainly on hands-on practical work, so that students may get a better insight into scientific theories. This enhances the inherent inquisitiveness of the student and energises him to examine uncharted paths. We have a composite science lab for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. In these labs, we have the most modern scientific equipment and teaching aids, which reflect the high standard of education set by us.
Our Math lab, a fresh concept in the field of education, helps the students to understand mathematical principles through exercises, models and teaching aids.
Library
Our library has a large collection of books on a wide variety of subjects. We also have rare reference books that help to enhance the knowledge of the students.
Our school promotes reading, and encourages students to cultivate a reading habit which in turn can help them to augment their knowledge and language skills.
Sports
Physical fitness is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. Sports provide an excellent opportunity for our students to stay fit and develop team spirit and friendship, among other things.
The school has taken great care to ensure that all sports requirements are met and our children are benefitted by the same. We have one room for sports related activities and have provision for indoor games such as badminton, chess, carrom, etc. Ample facilities for outdoor games such as hand ball, volley Ball, kho kho, etc. are also available, as we have the respective play grounds.
Transportation
Our school has a well developed transportation facility that is available to both students and staff. We have a fleet of 9 buses that connect the school to various selected locations across the town and its outskirts.
Other Facilities and Provisions
Our school building has one room each for the Principal, H.M, staff and the school office. There are 17 classrooms, 1 composite science lab, 1 math lab, 1 library, 1 computer lab with 15 computers, 1 staff room and 1 sports room.
The school has 24-hour uninterrupted water and electrical supply with provisions for power supply backup. The best, hygienic and separate sanitation facilities for girls and boys are available on each floor. Separate treated drinking water supply is available.
First aid facility is available in the campus itself, and higher medical facilities are available nearby.
Counselling facilities are provided in the school for students who need it. Our educational environment enhances the moral and social values of the students; these values are imparted through the curriculum.
The school provides its students numerous opportunities for co-curricular activities to enrich their cultural awareness. The cultural committee of the school encourages students to take part in a wide variety of cultural competitions such as singing, dancing, debates, creative writing etc., and conducts various cultural activities throughout the year.
Students are exposed to moral principles, cultural values and traditions of our mother land through satsangs and question & answer sessions with monastic disciples of Amma, as this is found to be morally, culturally and socially uplifting to the children.
